Working People Can’t Make Ends Meet In Westchester New York!

United Way is bringing attention to the hardship experienced by many working families in Westchester New York.  Many of Westchester’s working families cannot make ends meet even though they are working. United Way calls this population ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). Historically, this population has been identified as the working poor.

The ALICE population faces hardship at home and the workplace. In my experience, the ALICE population experiences the most workplace abuse- underpayment, discrimination, wage theft and family responsibility discrimination.
